Sorry if it's vague...I just read Looking for Alaska by John Green and I'm in the mood for books in which the protagonist realizes that his/her life is boring/stalled/in need of spicing up and sets out to change that. If it helps, I love Orson Scott Card/Neil Gaiman/Haruki Murakami.
